Goal
Since 2012 we have shown over 15,000 Burqueños what the Maker Movement can be. Since everyone can be a maker, we want to show even more people how they can become makers too.
Every day, your support makes these opportunities possible.
This is our 2019 Donation Campaign. Our goal is to help fifty different makers have a space to tell their stories, to share their creations, to teach everyone about their mistakes, and to show off their successes.
That’s why our goal for this year is to raise $5,000 by May 31st. If we raise that amount, we’ll be able to provide more opportunities for Maker-focused events throughout the year.
What Is Maker Faire?
Part science fair, part county fair, part interactive show-and-tell, and part something entirely new, the Maker Faire is a multi-generational gathering which brings together tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, tinkerers, hobbyists, engineers, science clubs, authors, artists, students, and commercial exhibitors. We showcase projects and organizations which exist at the intersection of art, science, engineering, and technology.
All of these Makers come to the Maker Faire to show what they have created, and to share what they have learned. Maker Faire features hands-on activities, learning opportunities and the chance for visitors to learn new skills such as soldering, sewing, rocket building and welding.
