Maje Mountains Project
THANK YOU TO ALL OF THE DONORS WHO HELPED US EXCEED OUR 2019 YEAR-END GOAL OF $12,000!
Your generosity has inspired us to push harder and higher in 2020 to reach $25,000 to protect and conserve 50,000 acres of Wounaan tropical forest in the Maje Mountains.
Three Wounaan communities in the Maje Mountains - Rio Hondo, Platanares and Maje - are struggling to protect their territories from encroachment and deforestation by loggers and ranchers. They are fighting for collective title to their land. They are striving to protect their natural heritage and culture. They need your help.
Your donation helps Wounaan defend their rainforest territories, restore their degraded forests and conserve their birdlife and traditional knowledge. Learn more about the project here: https://mailchi.mp/6303d9235464/save-the-maj-mountains?e=f7ae4758f7
