Goal

Macro for Migdal Ohr by JST

As many of you know, over the summer, my wife and I moved to Tel Aviv. This was a huge milestone for me, to be given the opportunity to live out my professional aspirations in a place I've always dreamed of building a life. Since the war broke out on October 7, life here has been frightening, tragic, and beyond heartbreaking. However, watching the country come together to support one another has been an awe-inspiring thing to witness, and I feel privileged to be a part of it.

It has been extremely touching to have many reach out asking about trustworthy organizations who are helping with the humanitarian issues on the ground. The organization I want to spotlight is one my wife and I have been involved with for years, Migdal Ohr.

Founded in 1972 by "the Living Legend", Rabbi Yitzchak David Grossman, Migdal Ohr is known to be a beacon of light for Israel's orphaned, abused, and neglected children. The organization provides education, hope, and bright futures to thousands of children and teens every year regardless of their roots. While this will always be their focus, in times of need there is no limit to Migdal Ohr's humanitarian efforts.

“Magen Israel”, Migdal Ohr's latest initiative, has three main objectives.

1. Relocating families & individuals from Gaza border towns.

More than 1,500 people - families, children, babies, and elderly - who survived the massacres along the Gaza border, have been evacuated to hotels in Jerusalem. These survivors who had to flee empty handed are being provided with food, clothing, physical and emotional counseling, medical attention, and any other needs that may come up. This effort will continue and adapt as needed after the war as these individuals rebuild from the horrors they’ve experienced.

2. Supporting Israel's overflowing hospitals.

Another focus of this mission is supporting the hospital system in Israel that is currently being flooded with victims. Providing supplies, comforts such as mattresses, as well as supporting resources for the wounded and their families.

3. Providing essentials and protective gear.

Delivering food, essentials, and gear such as vests and helmets to the frontlines.

This is an incredible effort by Migdal Ohr, an honorable and selfless organization that has been conducting major & effective humanitarian efforts for over 50 years. Please give what you can and thank you.

If there is interest in matching up to any amount, or if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.

All the best,

Jon and Sarah Turek
