Lookenby has spent most of his life here at Emmanuel, and over the years, he has gained not just friends, but a whole family of brothers and sisters. While he has cousins and biological brothers living nearby, no parental figure has ever returned to take him home. Yet through it all, Lookenby’s spirit has remained strong, and his presence brings joy to everyone around him. His smile has a way of lighting up the room, and his calm, steady demeanor is a blessing to our home.
He is almost always the first to raise his hand when help is needed. Whether it’s assisting our mission teams, carrying supplies, or jumping into a project, Lookenby’s willingness to serve is matched only by his cheerful attitude. As a natural leader, he sets an example for the younger children—reminding them to say “please” and “thank you,” encouraging them to be kind, and guiding them with patience and love. He is dependable, teachable, and always eager to learn something new.
School has not always been easy for him—he was once held back a grade in the past—but we have seen tremendous growth in his maturity and motivation. We are confident that, with his perseverance, his future is bright.
On the soccer field, Lookenby’s energy, teamwork, and good sportsmanship shine. Off the field, he enjoys working alongside the older boys on projects, eager to learn practical skills and trades. His resourcefulness, cleverness, and determination show that he is not afraid of challenges—in fact, he embraces them.
More than anything, Lookenby is a young man devoted to God. His faith is sincere, and he strives to live by it each day. We pray that he continues to walk closely with the Lord, allowing God’s love and wisdom to guide every step. We believe that God has incredible plans for Lookenby’s life—plans that will not only shape his future but also inspire and bless everyone whose lives he touches.
