Fundraising on behalf of The Cycle (INGO)
This September, a team from Armera and friends from the bathroom and construction industry will embark on a 230-mile cycling challenge, riding from London to Brussels over three days (19th–22nd September 2025). They’re taking on this incredible journey to raise vital funds for The Cycle and support their life-changing work. 🚲
Who Are The Cycle?
The Cycle is an innovative organisation, working to unlock the power of women and girls through the provision of safe sanitation and menstrual health education. They are leaders in the provision of sustainable water and sanitation services and, for over 25 years, have worked to build safe & sustainable toilets, teach period education programmes and advocate to end gender inequality.
Their work is carried out in India, in partnership with their sister organisation, Sanitation First India, and pride themselves on creating programmes that are locally led, community owned and sustainable.
The Reality?
This month, more than 2 billion women across the world will menstruate – a quarter of the world's population. But menstrual taboos, lack of toilets and little or no access to period products, mean that a minimum of 150 million women and girls in India lack the basic resources they need to manage their periods safely (UN Women).
Globally, women and girls spend 260 million hours every day searching for a place to go to the bathroom (UNICEF).
Where Will Your Money Be Going?
The funds raised from this challenge will go directly towards expanding The Cycle’s life-changing programmes:
🚽 Building water-saving eco-toilets in schools and communities, where there is currently little or no access to safe sanitation.
💧 Installing handwashing facilities, tanks for drinking water and rainwater harvesting.
🩸 Teaching menstrual health education to ensure women and girls have the knowledge and resources they need to manage their menstrual health safely.
🌱 Expanding their research in regenerative agriculture and water conservation to create sustainable, long-term solutions.
Why Support This Cause?
Because gender equality is the key to a thriving world. We believe that by empowering women and girls, we can break the cycle and create a world where all genders can thrive.
