Goal
In the past several years, there have been growing threats to conservation in Wisconsin. Our lands team has been working to protect lands and to increase the ease of access to public lands. Fortunately, our advocacy is making a difference!
We have held off the development so far of the Kohler Andrae lakeshore into a Kohler Company golf course, protecting the state park, rare sand dunes, wetlands, mature trees and migratory birds.
We are currently partnering with the national Sierra Club to defend public lands from the Trump Administration.
We are helping people form lasting connections with the outdoors. By advocating for a Wisconsin Every Kid Outdoors, which would allow 4th graders and their families to access state parks for free, we hope to expand kids’ interactions with nature.
We also host educational events and outings, and we are working on an interactive website to help people better understand lands in Wisconsin.
We are fighting hard to make sure the legislature continues the Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Program, through events, postcard writing, press outreach, and encouraging our members to contact their legislators.
While we are seeing success, we need resources to continue this work. Please help us reach our goal of $1,000.
