Goal
Short documentary The Life of the Party explores a Republican Party in transition, illustrating how political participation is shaped not just by ideology, but by personal history, community, and faith. The film shows how individuals make sense of power, representation, and civic responsibility in a complex and deeply polarized system—urging a deeper look at the monolithic caricatures of modern American politics.
Campaign Goal: $40,000 by September 17
We are co-directors Meg Griffiths and Scott Faris, and we're launching an impact campaign before the midterm elections to combat political polarization and encourage voting. At a time when political divisions often feel insurmountable, The Life of the Party invites audiences to look beyond partisan labels and engage with the complexity, humanity, and contradictions that shape our democracy. By supporting this film, you're helping bring these conversations to campuses, community centers, civic organizations, and audiences across the country.
These activations will be designed to deepen engagement, reach diverse and politically varied audiences, and connect participants to practical resources and pathways for civic participation. The filmmakers are partnering with organizations that have similar goals to expand their impact, including: Texas Women’s University, Living Room Conversations, Listen First Coalition, and the Austin Film Society.
Funding will help us increase access for underserved communities and develop structured engagement tools and programming ensuring the film drives sustained dialogue and real-world impact.
Our goal is to raise $40,000 to support the impact campaign and screening tour, and we need your tax-deductible donation to make it possible.
