Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Community Forum
Our Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Community Forum Needs Your Support!
As of May 1st, 2020, we have over 8000 active LGBT individuals in our community!
Your donation will go towards improving the lives of LGBT people by breaking communication boundaries. Your donation supports our community by creating a platform for open and safe communication. We ask your help in building educational content for everyone with a private area to communicate into deeper discussions.
Make a generous gift donation today and support our community so we may grow! We look forward to your active and enthusiastic participation in our Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Community. Community is the most important form of support you can give. Share where you can. Contributions of your time usually outweigh monetary contributions when it comes to our LGBT Community. That being said, We do need monetary donations to keep our doors open and cover monthly expenses. Every little bit of generosity you can give helps someone that needs their voice heard.
We are seeking your support to cover our basic expenses in 2020.
Use of funds go in this order: Our short term goal was to meet our minimum balance to make the site go live before June, LGBT Pride Month. We achieved this goal and have secured and managed a new hosting plan. We needed more than shared hosting to cover the bandwidth from daily users. Our former shared plan could not handle our daily traffic. Our main upfront cost is to build out our website on a new more secure platform to keep our members privacy safe. We will be using xenForo forum software going forward. This is a communications platform. We are not targeting LGBT.net as an entertainment site covered in tacky advertisements. Yet we will be using Amazon and Google Adsense until the majority of our goals are met. During the year we will need to renew our domain name (LGBT.net). The remaining funds, over our monthly goals, go toward content development that support our members. We need paid moderators that can cover multiple locations worldwide with regional input. Quickly after launching our website our community grew to include followers from all over the world. People with voices that need your support. We did not expect this, but our footprint is international!
Once we reach our minimum goal we can look to more places we can support our members. In the past, volunteers made up our staff of forum moderators and content developers, all without compensation. We would like to hire moderators and content developers from within our community.
Join our active company page (https://www.linkedin.com/company/lgbt) with over 8000 followers for updates on our progress in 2020. On our company page we mainly talk about light subjects, such as vacations and holidays. But we need to relaunch our platform for deeper conversations with privacy in mind. Managed by Mark Laymon.
