Help lead Level Ground into our Collective future!

Level Ground is more than just an arts organization.
We are an incubator for diverse artists, creators, and audiences to experiment with how we approach and address the nuances of social division and inequity. Beyond any one particular project or program, we see our work as rooted in the process and posture of experimentation, collaboration, and empathy. These commitments, along with the diversity and talent of our community, has allowed Level Ground to consistently reimagine and scale our work. We see this agility as one of our greatest strengths.
Support our work with a tax-deductible donation of any amount. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
Furthermore, we are a small, mostly part-time staff, and we largely desire to stay that way. Our size reminds us that we cannot and should not do this work alone. Instead, we are interested in unique and unexpected partnerships that build collective power, leverage resources for those who have yet to be heard or included, and cooperatively create the liberated future in which we hope to one day live.

Check out our 2021-2023 Strategic Plan
This time last year we were all looking forward to 2021 being, well, a better year. Despite the continued trauma of the last 12 months, this has been a BIG year for Level Ground.
- We launched a brand new Strategic Plan that outlines our goals of becoming a cooperative, artist-led community that centers and prioritizes artists of color, and Black artists in particular.
- We launched a for-profit Production Company to serve the expansive opportunities that have come our way after the success of our first production incubator project, Framing Agnes.
- We produced several art programs and events including: Residency Week, High Beams, SKEW 03, and Blooming in the Whirlwind.
- We received our first state-funded grants from the California Arts Council.
- We had our first staff retreat (since 2014) and created several new paid job opportunities for artists in our community to work on internal Level Ground projects (related to leadership, marketing, and event production).
As we work to fulfill our Strategic Plan over the next 2 years, our leadership structure is going to change to create a flatter, artist-led, and cooperative structure. We're asking for your support in order to pay our growing Staff Artist team as they learn how to lead Level Ground into our collective future. Please make a tax-deductible, year-end donation of any amount and help us grow.
