Leigh Abts Legacy in Engineering Education Scholarship

Leigh was both an entrepreneur and an academic. He helped start the companies MicroPure and FutureHealth, later holding positions at Johns Hopkins University. He eventually joined the faculty of the University of Maryland, College Park, where he became a national leader in STEM education reform, championing inclusive engineering instruction and assessment.  Dr. Abts will always be remembered for his boundless energy and his 25 year commitment to advancing engineering education for high school students.  He was one of the founding forces behind e4usa.
