Goal

WoodridgeMTB Trail Support Foundation is a non-profit society incorporated in 2022. Our objective is to raise funds for local mountain bike trail societies in Alberta and build awareness of the positive effects of mountain biking on addiction recovery and overall mental health.

LEGACY TRAILS CONCEPT

The Legacy Trails Project, in partnership with Baseline Mountain Biking Club, aims to build two new mountain bike trails on Baseline Mountain, dedicated to mental health and addiction recovery. These trails will provide a safe outdoor space for riders to connect with nature and the community while improving their physical and mental well-being. The project not only focuses on trail construction but also emphasizes the broader benefits of mountain biking as a tool for mental health and addiction recovery.

Leveraging the expertise of Baseline Mountain Biking Club, a non-profit organization entrusted with the stewardship of Baseline Mountain, the trails will be built and maintained to the Whistler Trail Standard, ensuring long-term sustainability. The trails have been designed to cater to all skill levels, from beginner to advanced, incorporating sustainable trail-building practices throughout.

A memorial bench honouring Ian MacDonald will be included as a tribute to his legacy and a symbol of hope for those facing challenges.

INVESTING IN OUR COMMUNITY

With an estimated project cost of $130,000 - $150,000, we seek corporate sponsors to fund up to 50% of this transformative project, with the remainder to be raised through community fundraising efforts and personal donations.

By sponsoring the Legacy Trails Project, you will be at the forefront of promoting outdoor recreation with an ongoing impact to riders’ mental and physical health.
