Meaning in Every Mile : Virtual 5K

I am participating in the Virtual 5K for Lee Pesky Learning Center because I believe every individual deserves the opportunity to overcome obstacles to learning and reach their full potential. LPLC's mission to create pathways to learning for everyone resonates deeply with me, as they provide crucial support to students, families, and educators through personalized interventions and innovative programs. 

By walking, I’m raising awareness and funds to ensure that more students have access to the resources they need to succeed, no matter the challenges they face. Together, we can make a lasting impact on the lives of learners everywhere.

Event Date:

Same day as the NYC Marathon: November 3rd, 2024

Event Goal:

Join us in supporting the runners representing Lee Pesky Learning Center in the NYC Marathon by participating in our Virtual 5K! Whether you walk, jog, or run, every step you take helps raise funds to support individuals overcoming learning differences.

Event Overview:

The Steps for Success Virtual 5K is an opportunity for participants from anywhere in the world to get active and make an impact on education. By aligning our event with the NYC Marathon, we aim to show solidarity with our marathon runners and their incredible fundraising efforts. All proceeds will directly benefit the programs and services at Lee Pesky Learning Center, helping students, families, and educators overcome obstacles to learning.

Register Online:

This is a Peer-to-Peer Campaign to raise funds for the Lee Pesky Learning Center. To get started, click "I want to fundraise for this" in the top right-hand corner and create your donor page. 

Run/Walk Your 5K Anywhere: 

You can complete your 5K at your own pace, in your neighborhood, on a treadmill, or at your favorite park. Track your run with any fitness app and share your results.

Support Our NYC Marathon Runners: Follow along and cheer on our marathon team by participating in the virtual race on the same day!

Celebrate & Share: Don’t forget to post pictures of your run/ walk on your campaign page and your personal social media accounts with the hashtag #LPLCVirtual5K and tag us @LeePesky to join the conversation and support our mission.

Why Participate?

By participating in this virtual event, you’re directly contributing to the success of individuals facing learning challenges. The funds raised will go toward providing vital services like academic intervention, counseling, professional development for educators, and more.

Fundraising Incentives:

Participants are encouraged to create their own fundraising pages to further support LPLC’s mission. Raise $250 or more and receive a special LPLC race kit with additional goodies!
