 League of Women Voters of Humboldt County Education Fund The League of Women Voters of Humboldt County, a nonpartisan political organization, encourages the informed and active participation of citizens in government. The first purpose of the fund is to further league educational purposes within the Humboldt County area. Examples of education fund activities are: candidates, public information, and educational forums; nonpartisan voter registration and "get-out-the-vote" drives; voter information for new citizens; purchase of printed pros and cons on ballot measures and other nonpartisan election-related materials; support of Internet access to unbiased voter election information; and publication of the Humboldt County Citizens' Guide to County Government. The second purpose of the fund is to underwrite the state and national membership dues for those local League of Women Voters members and potential members who cannot afford to pay these costs. |
