Lavonya Jones - Board Member Personal Campaign
HYPE is solving for economic inequality and intergenerational poverty by providing access to tech training, leadership development, and a one-of-its-kind International Exposure trip for middle and high school girls of color.
Fewer than 4% of computing related careers are held by women of color, but HYPE's significant experiences result in girls forming positive associations with tech and creates a pathway for long-term success.
Much of the work that I do is fueled by a desire for greater equity for Black and Brown students in all areas where they are underrepresented. I joined HYPE's board because they are aligned with my passion to eliminate poverty through innovation and entrepreneurship by equipping girls of color to be global service-minded leaders who will solve the world's problems using technology.
In order to reach girls wherever they are regardless of resources available, HYPE programs are offered at no cost to the student! Your donation to HYPE helps provide access to tech education and leadership development opportunities for girls of color, and is an instrumental part in helping us establish a pipeline of diverse tech talent and leaders!
