When a family in Orange, Durham, or Chatham County is facing eviction, we pay one month’s rent directly to their landlord within 72 hours—fast enough to keep them housed.

We’re raising $15,000 in the next 2 weeks to launch this work.

Your donation directly keeps someone housed:

$75 - Helps fund rapid outreach and case review

In North Carolina, a family who misses rent can be in front of a magistrate within two weeks—and locked out within three. The programs designed to help often take 30–90 days to deliver funds. The help exists. It just doesn’t move fast enough to matter.

Grata Connects closes that gap. When a neighbor is days away from eviction we act immediately, paying up to one month of rent and stabilizing the situation within 72 hours.

Then we connect them directly to the programs that help them stay housed long-term.

This isn’t theoretical. Between August 2024 and December 2025, our founder helped 56 individuals and families stay housed through direct negotiation and personal support. This campaign makes that work sustainable and scalable.
