Goal
In the blending of Giving Tuesday and the founders' narrative emerges the moving story of Breaking Chains Foundation Inc. Formed in 2023, this nonprofit was a collaborative effort by two survivor sisters, Sabella Elaina Neal and Felicity Marie Case. Their mission: to address the pressing need for comprehensive support for victims of trafficking.
The notable piece of their journey lies in the mentorship that once bound them together. Five years prior, Sabella played the role of mentor to Felicity. Sabella, a survivor herself, intimately understood the challenges faced by victims, having endured child exploitation, addiction, and other traumas. Her personal story, though marked by exploitation and abuse, was not one of continual victimhood. Rather, her unwavering determination stemmed from a desire to prevent others from experiencing the same suffering.
Recognizing that healing extended beyond physical recovery, Sabella and Felicity explored into thorough research and community engagement. In doing so, they discovered significant gaps in services available to trafficking victims. Fueled by a profound passion, they co-founded the Breaking Chains Foundation Inc., dedicated to breaking the chains of exploitation and building brighter tomorrows for survivors.
The foundation's primary focus is on community education about human trafficking, empowering individuals to recognize signs and prevent it. Additionally, Sabella and Felicity are committed to creating programs that provide survivors with essential support, ranging from shelter and counseling to legal assistance during their most challenging times. At the core of their approach is the belief in survivors supporting one another, culminating in the creation of a survivor mentorship and advocacy program aimed at giving survivors a voice and facilitating holistic healing.
Established with the steadfast goal of rescuing, restoring, empowering, educating, mentoring, and advocating for victims of human trafficking, the Breaking Chains Foundation embodies Sabella and Felicity's lived experiences as survivors. Their mission is clear: to help survivors regain independence, dignity, and hope while tirelessly working to break the cycle of exploitation.
These two survivor sisters, once mentors in each other's lives, recognized the service gaps for trafficking victims and joined forces to create an organization dedicated to filling those voids. Breaking Chains Foundation Inc. symbolizes their collective journey from victim to survivor and their unwavering commitment to ensuring that no one has to endure the suffering they once faced.
