Laps for Longfellow
A Major Fundraiser for Longfellow School PTO
Laps for Longfellow is a walk-run event happening on Thursday, October 28th (rain date Thursday Nov 4th) for the first time during school, led by the PE teacher, Coach C, and the Longfellow PTO.
In the weeks leading up to the event, students will be practicing running/walking laps in PE class with Coach C. Students will be creating an inspiring polkadot display for the walk-run route, in art class with Mrs. Horie. Students will read about fitness and fundraising in their library class with Ms. Py. And music teacher Mr. Evan Cuddy will be playing music for the event.
On the day of the event, every student will have the opportunity to complete as many laps as possible in 20 minutes. Note that sponsorships are not on a per lap basis, it’s a simple “flat” sponsorship in any amount.
Students will have the month of October to raise funds from family, friends, and neighbors to support the Longfellow PTO. The goal for the event is to raise $6,000, and if every student gets support from 1-10 sponsors with total gifts ranging from $5 - $100 we together can reach the goal.
These funds will be used to support curriculum enrichment, school supplies, and much more - benefitting every student at Longfellow school.
