Lana's Trek for Livelihood
She walked 860 km on foot to the “end of the world’’. Now she is going to walk a #charitytrek to support Bali. #lanastrekforbali
“Business and people’s collaboration has to become real “new normal". I believe that only cooperation will help us to sort out new challenges we are facing now. I can’t see how local people are struggling nowadays without access to food. So it’s the minimum that I can do. Please, support me in this challenge, and let’s do it together”.
WHO IS LANA MARS?
Ukrainian, the first traveler who walked from Lisbon to Spain without using money, 860 km on foot, 50 days (Camino de Santiago):
✔ Alone, without special training or equipment. No accommodation or food, everything came through the exchange of services and resources.
✔ The adventure was very spiritual and now full of insights
✔ The purpose was to test a startup and for the start of new life after divorce
✔ It was more than just trekking, it was a way to find her true self
Lived and worked in Mexico, Kazakhstan, UAE, KSA, and now – Bali.
Each her travel is the way to explore the life and personal physical and mental limits:
✔ India with a mission to hug an elephant and find spiritual knowledge
✔ Kazakhstan - to create own international festival in 2 months
When Lana went to Bali, she got stuck by the border close and at the same time got fired by her company. Lana went through emotions of being jobless in a global crisis with bills to pay, but soon she found a new way to deal with it. “I decided not to panic and motivated my self to remain engaged. Indonesia is going through a huge crisis as its economy is based on tourism. I wanted to give back to the paradise island and started helping at a charity kitchen set up by another Australian traveler in his villa. We started prepping meals to feed 350 people daily and I was happy to help. It was like a self-therapy for me.”
WHAT SHE WILL DO?
Lana will be going to do a fundraising walk from Berawa Beach, Canggu - Besakih Temple, Karangasem Bali (72 KM) to feed people in Bali.
WHERE THE MONEY GOES?
SCHOLARS OF SUSTENANCE – A GLOBAL FOOD RESCUE FOUNDATION – is the island's leader in providing Corona relief, over 600,000 Meals served in Bali alone since the beginning of the Pandemic in March 2020.
Since the start, globally, SOS rescued and served surplus food to the communities in need. Now more than 6 million meals, an equivalent of over 2,000 tons worth of food surplus not going to landfills.
WHY FUNDRAISING FOOD?
Lana was volunteering at the charity kitchen in Aquarius Villa Canggu and she saw a lot of people coming every day only to pick up a small amount of food. From there she realizes that there are a lot of people in hunger in Bali.
