LAM Foundation "Supporting Spinal Cord Warriors"
My name is Lori Ann McGraw LAM came from my initials when God first gave me the vision for The LAM foundation while I was in recovery still in the hospital. On April 15, 2021 I was carefully heading home in a blizzard when my car slid on the ice turning a hard 180 degrees snapping my neck and paralyzing me instantly from the neck down. I could only blink I could no longer control my vehicle but helplessly watched as it continued to roll down hill and flipped over into the ditch, I hung there hopelessly helpless in my seatbelt unable to save myself until helped arrived. I laterally fractured C5 & C7, combust fractured C6, blew several discs, by a true miracle of God, surgery to rebuild my C6, support from my amazing husband and our four beautiful daughters, and a very long road of recovery I regained full function of my body. While I was recovering one of my dearest friends Mike Pszanka was in a horrible ATV accident broke his neck almost identical to mine and was a quadriplegic instantly also, he too is a walking miracle of God and on this long brutal road of recovery. God brought our families together for such a time as this we share the same vision & passion to help patients like Mike and I who suffer from Spinal Cord injuries. LAM isn’t just my initials it stands for Lori And Mike now! We are on a mission to help fellow Spinal Cord Survivors like us so many suffer in silence, chronic pain or even take their life because they can’t live with the pain anymore.LAM will provide hope, resources, equipment for individuals and facilities, treatments for those who can not afford the therapy they need and where insurance does not cover it. Did you know most insurance doesn’t cover shower chairs for patients when they get home or wheelchair ramps are considered a “luxury” they won’t cover them…it’s unacceptable that handicapped patients can’t get the essential equipment they need while they are recovering. The LAM foundations vision is big & beautiful with God steering us there is so much we can do to help those suffering. We are using our pain for a divine purpose building beauty out of the ashes and giving God the honor and glory for it all. Thank you so much for your support!
Isaiah 61:1-3
61 The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,[a]
2 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of joy
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the Lord
for the display of his splendor.
