Kyle Thompson for 57th District Seat of Kentucky House of Representatives

Kyle Thompson is running for the 57th District Seat of the Kentucky House of Representatives.  A lifelong resident of Frankfort, Kentucky, a lawyer with 22 years of legal experience practicing in all levels and jurisdictions in the Commonwealth, and a business owner that has grown his organization in just ten years, into the largest private probation, judicial drug testing, and electronic monitoring company in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Kyle is a twice elected City Commissioner in the Capital City. He is married to Jennifer Vest Thompson (Flatwoods, Kentucky) and has three children (Emma Kate, 21; Liv, 19; Landon Cooper 13) and two 'bonus' kids (Kate, 17; and Ryder, 14) The family are members of Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church.

Kyle's Campaign Positions:

1. The Capital City of Frankfort deserves to have investments from the Commonwealth of Kentucky to provide for the brightest future possible for our community, and not simply to remain focused on our history. And, while this aspect of our town is both fascinating and makes it remarkably charming, should not be the only thing that our community is known for; but maintained as our city is the bridge between the beginning of this great Commonwealth to the unbridled possibilities of our collective futures.

2. We can no longer ignore the facts that our community is failing current and future generations of young people as we struggle with one of the highest actual drug overdose rates per capita in the United States, and unengaged and ill prepared and educated workforce, and a lack of development and growth over the last forty-five years, compared to surrounding communities. The City of Frankfort must demand the highest levels of resources to combat addiction and cycles of crime and poverty; the greatest efforts of our educational systems and teachers to mold our youth into prepared graduates of post-secondary education, ready for college and/or the best job skills training programs in the Bluegrass; and use these focused efforts to drive economic and community development.

3. Fiscal responsibility and investments into the futures of our youth is the only means by which our Commonwealth can be prepared for a future that will certainly require our citizens and communities to compete for every job; every state and federal dollar for education and job training; and every opportunity to protect the most fundamental rights afforded to each of us: the rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

"It's time to make history! Frankfort deserves a monumental shift after one party's rule over the Capital City for 164 years with absolutely nothing to show for it!" - Kyle Thompson, Republican Candidate for 57th District Seat of the Kentucky House of Representatives.
