Running to End Racing
I've been a runner for over 30 years... because I enjoy it. No one forces me to run; I decide when and where, how often, how fast, and how far to run.
Unfortunately, this isn't the case for greyhounds that are forced to race to entertain and enrich the people who support dog racing worldwide. These beautiful and gentle animals are deprived of living the life that all dogs deserve. I don't have a greyhound (yet--I'm hoping to adopt one in the future), but as an animal lover who has rescued many dogs in my lifetime, my heart breaks just thinking about the lives of racing greyhounds. The long periods of confinement, lack of freedom, high risk of injury, and the cruel fate that awaits those no longer considered profitable: all the reasons I'm opposed to greyhound racing and why I support GREY2K USA Worldwide. They are committed to educating the public, closing remaining tracks, and raising funds for greyhound adoption.
On March 6, 2022, I'm running the Napa Valley Marathon as a fundraiser for greyhounds. Any donation amount is greatly appreciated. You can also help by sharing and spreading the word about greyhounds and this wonderful nonprofit organization. Thank you!
