The KidBacker Startup Fund for Youth Entrepreneurs provides academic scholarships and business grants to young entrepreneurs and innovators between the ages of 13 - 25.
Business Grants are awarded to qualifying student startup teams with at least 50% of the team between the ages of 13 - 25. Teams go through a rigorous evaluation and vetting process and in many times, compete for grants during pitch events. Student teams must have legally formed companies in order to apply. Grants start from $500 and go up to $50,000 depending on where they are in the startup lifecycle.
Academic Scholarships are awarded to students ages 10 - 25 based on financial need, character, and a demonstrated passion for entrepreneurship. With regard to academic success, our position is that being an A+ student is not always an indicator of entrepreneurial success. Therefore, we review academic performance with a balanced perspective. Scholarships can be used for business focused after-school programs, summer camps, skills enrichment events and seminars, venture competition participation, and college.
