Keeping DDoSecrets Online

Distributed Denial of Secrets is the most important active leak organization in the world but we need your help today. Simply put, if we don't raise $15,000 in the next two weeks, we may be forced to pause our operations. Since launching in 2018, we have published over 250 datasets, revealing the inner workings of far right extremist groups, sanctions evaders, weapons manufacturers, tax havens, illegal resource extraction, as well as law enforcement, military, and political groups from all over the world. We need your help to continue this valuable work.

Why now? 

In short, the services we provide to the public have expanded while our resources haven't. DDoSecrets has been discovering, processing and publishing an enormous amount of datasets, and the ongoing cost to host, search, and archive that data continues to grow. We've hired two full-time staffers to manage the workload and need to pay them for their labor. 

We work for the public

Our publications have served as the backbone of some of the most groundbreaking investigations over the past few years. We published internal files from Russia's censorship office, Roskomnadzor, revealing how it attempts to discredit journalists and spy on citizens. The Parler videos we published were used as evidence during the second impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump. Our SEDENA release documents how the Mexican military uses powerful hacking tools to spy on activists. 

What happens next?

We're working on a plan to bring DDoSecrets to a more stable position financially, but quickly running out of options and estimating that we have two weeks to raise $15,000. That means we need 300 donors to pitch in $50 to keep us running. We aren't prepared to give up just yet, and plan to spend the summer raising funds to buoy the collective.
