Kanack School of Musical Artistry

A gift to the Kanack School of Music General Fund will help to provide scholarship to students with financial need, allow us to continue to offer group classes at no extra charge to all students registered for lessons at the school, increase our reach to under-served children in the Rochester area through a new CAD Pre-School program in the City of Rochester, and allow us to move forward with the planned expansion of our home at 2077 S. Clinton Ave.

The Kanack School of Musical Artistry has been a part of the Rochester community for almost a quarter of a century and in 2017 we became a 501(c)(3) non profit in order to better serve that community and extend our reach to students and teachers beyond our walls.  In addition to being a Suzuki school that also offers traditional lessons the Kanack School sets itself apart by immersing its students in Creative Ability Development (CAD). CAD is an educational system created by Alice Kanack to use musical improvisation to develop a student's creativity.  Students who study CAD become more complete musicians and human beings with the ability to both express themselves and respect the ideas and offering of others.

We are a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, EIN 47-1611231. All contributions are tax deductible. No goods or services will be provided in exchange for the contribution.
