Goal
The Kalymnos Cat Project is a volunteer program focusing on education and Trap/Neuter/Return (TNR) to manage the overwhelming stray cat crisis on the island of Kalymnos, Greece. Your donation supports the purchase of traps, food and care for the animals, and veterinary bills.
Thanks to your support, more than 3,000 cats have been sterilized on Kalymnos since our creation in 2021. This extraordinary result has only been possible thanks to private donors, animal welfare foundations and our amazing volunteers. Your trust and generosity have made a real, lasting difference for the cats of the island.
To continue responsibly, we urgently need stable funding to maintain our sterilization program, hire a trained TNR (Trap/Neuter/Return) coordinator, and rent a small space to store equipment and safely house cats overnight during TNR operations.
As a result of our efforts, many cats now live longer lives. However, we are also seeing many kittens and cats with health problems. As a consequence, more and more people contact us asking for help for sick or injured cats, and our small volunteer team is increasingly overwhelmed and the funding just doesn’t match the demand.
We are hoping to create a small sanctuary and a safe space where kittens as well as older or sick cats can be cared for. To make this possible, we also need to hire an experienced caregiver, but we need funding to make this happen. Our present work is centered on TNR and expanding care for sick cats would only be possible with a significant boost in funding.
Please consider becoming a monthly supporter. Even a small monthly donation allows us to plan ahead and ensure continuity for the cats who depend on us. It's also a great way to continue supporting us after you return home from your amazing vacation on Kalymnos?
There are literally thousands of stray cats needing help on the island.
Thank you for your support.

I am moving to Pothia in January and would live to help out as I did when I lived at Crete. I sent lots of cats to Sweden. Looking forward to help out.
