Ka La‘i Ola
The Place of Peaceful Recovery
Ka Laʻi Ola will be the largest interim housing development created for wildfire victims on Maui. The site will house up to 1,500 individuals (from keiki to kupuna), who have been displaced by fire, for up to 5 years.
The project will cost approximately $120M to build. The State of Hawaiʻi has funded $75M and Hawaiʻi Community Foundation via their Maui Strong Fund has funded $40M.
The remaining $5M will come from the additional generosity of our community. It will be used to create opportunities for residents to move forward – such as childcare, healthcare, a resiliency center, gardens, playgrounds, and other outdoor spaces.
Your donation to Ka Laʻi Ola will help displaced Maui residents return to a sense of normalcy to rebuild their lives.
