Goal

susan abulhawa is a Palestinian author who spoke at the Oxford Union in November 2024 about the Israeli genocide in Palestine. Over 250,000 people watched her speech online. The Oxford Union later edited it in breach of their own agreement. They could restore the full version tomorrow, but they have chosen not to.

We are pushing back.

With ELSC's support, susan has escalated the case to the Information Commissioner’s Office and filed a discrimination claim against the Oxford Union, challenging its censorship of her speech. Further claims relating to breach of contract, data protection violations, and copyright infringement are also being considered.

susan is challenging the deliberate attempt to erase Palestinian narratives.

During periods of genocide and war crimes, the historical record matters.
