Goal
Joining Generations partners high schools with senior facilities in the form of student-led chapters. Our mission: We provide opportunities for the youth to engage and connect with the senior population by promoting meaningful interaction, friendships, and connection to the community. This program is year-round and is formed and maintained at a high school campus with regular meetings. Through this program, volunteers learn how to create meaningful interactions to maximize resident benefit. Volunteers also develop leadership skills through preparing and participating in events. In return, purposeful relationships are built and both the high school students and the seniors are left feeling fulfilled, inspired, and more connected to the community. Currently, Joining Generations has 3 chapters in Frisco, TX. This year, these chapters will be hosting monthly online travel-themed events to break the monotony of quarantine for our seniors. Volunteers will be documenting the travel experiences and stories from each senior and at the end of the year, Joining Generations will professionally print personalized memory books to give back to the residents. We are looking to raises $1,270 for our 3 chapters and we are wanting to raise $1,270 each for 2 new chapters. We need help funding for our technology set-up. This technology set-up is necessary to ensure we are able to have meaningful and quality interaction. We also need help funding the costs of our memory books.
