I am reaching out to seek support for the National Paramedic Monument to honour those Paramedics who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the service to their community and country.
I have been honoured to pay my respects at the memorial services for several Paramedics killed in the line of duty during my career, including two Manitoba Paramedics, Keith Barrie and Manuel Cadres. I was proud to stand with hundreds of other Paramedics as we honoured those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Standing along with the Paramedics were many members of the other emergency services, Municipal Police, RCMP, Fire Fighters and Canadian Border Services.
The other emergency services all have National Monuments in our nations capital honouring their members who made the ultimate sacrifice. Paramedics are the only emergency service that does not have a National Monument in Ottawa.
All the ground work in establishing a National Paramedic Monument has been done, including the location where the monument will sit. The only thing left is to raise the necessary funds to make that happen.
Please help me help the Canadian Paramedic Memorial Foundation in raising those funds by making a donation. Any amount will help. Donations are tax deductible as the Canadian Paramedic Memorial Foundation is a registered charity.
