Become a member!

We believe everyone has a right to live the life they want, in the community of their choice.

Will you join us in building a world where children and adults with intellectual and other developmental disabilities thrive as equal, valued, and active members of the community? The Arc of King County has been a member-based organization since our formation in 1936. By joining, you are saying “Count me in. I’m an advocate for disability rights.”

In 2025, we eliminated membership dues to lower barriers and increase access to advocacy. (If you would like to join without a donation, you can do so here: https://arcofkingcounty.org/involved/become-a-member.html). Suspending dues helps us be more inclusive, but your financial support is still critical to our advocacy mission.

Members receive important public policy updates and invitations to use their voice, gather with other members, and give feedback to The Arc on our positions and efforts.

As a member, you will join a powerful state and national network and be counted in our membership numbers when we talk to elected officials, partners, and funders.

Your membership supports the fight for our shared values, such as:

  • Access to health care and housing in the community
  • Access to free and appropriate public education in an inclusive setting
  • Safety from harm
  • Support for caregivers
  • Public services – from emergency response to parks & recreation – that work for people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities.

Your membership makes The Arc's powerful voice even stronger.
