Johnny Allen Jr | Journey To 100 Miles

With so much going on in the world, we need to be more mindful of how grateful we are and do what we can to help others. Each year, I come out to participate and help fundraise. I feel a closer connection to those that we are helping and want to do as much as I can.

The women who benefit from this fundraiser walk an estimated 3.7 miles a day to get clean water. If there is a way to help those in need, sign me up! If my running can help raise money, I will use my abilities to help. Each year, I have gotten stronger and more connected to those that need help.

My first year running at the Westfield Ultra, I completed 83 miles. My second year, I completed 86, and my third year was 96. This year, I have dedicated time strictly to this event. I shall not quit because I know that the women cannot quit. It takes a village to raise a community. If you want to go far, you must go together. I have not been alone on this journey. We are looking to further each other to achieve this goal.

I have been blessed with great family, friends, and coworkers who have helped me by sacrificing their time and energy, and consistently pushing me through the ups and downs. So, let’s continue to work and do our best. I hope to see you there at the finish line.
