This endowment was established shortly before the death of Virginia Wilcox in Oct. 2008. It honors her memory and that of her husband John L who died in Jan. 2007. John graduated from Woodrow Wilson HS and spent most of his working years in the coal mining and trucking industries. Virginia, daughter of Frank and Jennie Harper, grew up in Harper Heights, Raleigh Co. After they married, they bought their dream home in Nimitz and raised four children. This fund will provide scholarship assistance for attendance at K-12 Christian schools; or for students graduating from either Christian-based home or private school seeking post-secondary education; or students graduating from any secondary school pursuing further education at a Christian college/university; or older students pursing Christian training/education.
