Here at Branch Out Now we work on the front lines of the fight for Sustainability, Women’s Empowerment, and Indigenous Rights in Afro-Carribean Regions throughout the Caribe. However, with the changing of the wind, we have had to adjust our sails.
In the wake of back to back hurricanes, Eta & Iota, hitting the Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua and with many of the communities we work with displaced, we are now focused on providing the bare necessities to survivors of these devastating natural disasters. What is education with nowhere to lay your head or a full mind without a full stomach?
In that spirit, we are organizing our ‘Jingle Bell Drop’ benefit concert with an amazing international line-up, it's an event not to be missed!
We are collecting funds for the Branch Out Now Hurricane Relief Fund that is providing Holiday Care Packages to families displaced by the hurricanes. Communal kitchen set-ups will also be distributed for communities including; large soup pots, rice pots, grills, coconut graters, traditional foods, and of course clean water. There are also needs for feminine products, diapers, formula, toiletries, insulin, fever aids, and other essentials.
Communities all up the Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua have been wiped off the map; those undocumented have been pushed into further into dispair. Please remember these families this holiday season and give a gift of hope today!
