"Black, Baptist, and Buddhist: How I Learned Nonviolent Activism" 


Professor Jan Willis will discuss how key elements of her life story--ranging from marching with Dr. King during the Civil Rights Campaign in Birmingham in 1963, to journeys to India and Nepal and meeting Tibetan Buddhist teachers--gave her a new spiritual as well as academic home. 

 

9 a.m. - 9:45 a.m. - Silent meditation via Zoom and at the center for anyone who would like to join prior to the teaching

10 a.m. - 12 p.m. - Teaching via Zoom*
Zoom link will be included in your donation confirmation receipt.

 

*Please note: The center will be open for attendance in-person, at the Chenrezig Tibetan Buddhist Center 954 N Marshall St. Phila Pa 19123. However, Jan Willis will be teaching live via Zoom remotely. Her live video stream will be shared on the large screen we have in our center. Attendees both on Zoom and in the center will have the opportunity to ask questions during the Q & A session.
