James T Jeffries Sr. Memorial Scholarship

The family of James T. Jeffries, Sr. has established a memorial scholarship to honor his dedication to family, education and excellence in sports. A proud father, James instilled an unwavering work ethic in his children on and off the field. While his older son Damion played football as a child, his son James II and twins, Jada and Jared, played t-ball at the ages of three and four. This early nurturing resulted in James II attending college on an academic scholarship while Jada and Jared attended on athletic scholarships. He strongly felt that sports was one way to help instill life values. James Sr. will always be remembered for his passionate enthusiasm for the games of baseball and softball. He coached, encouraged, instructed and inspired many players over the years. It has become evident that Coach James held a special place in the hearts of many young people. This scholarship will serve to perpetuate his fun loving and caring spirit and continue to touch the lives of those integrally involved in the sports he loved so dearly.

The James T. Jeffries, Sr. Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a graduating high school senior who demonstrates academic potential, exhibits leadership acumen and displays an exemplary work ethic and perseverance on the fields of softball and baseball.
