2026 Jail & Bail

I have been "charged" with "over multi-tasking", and on Wednesday, April 29th, I will be a "Jailbird" for a very important reason.

As the Executive Director of the Cornwall & Area Chamber of Commerce, I am uniquely aware of what makes our region strong: resilience, inclusivity, and a belief that a rising tide lifts all boats. Our Chamber members understand that a strong local economy is built on diverse partnerships and supporting a community where everyone has the chance to thrive.

This is exactly why Beyond 21 is so critical.

For many adults with developmental disabilities, the end of their schooling at age 21 can lead to a gap in support, opportunity, and daily connection. Beyond 21 bridges that gap. They don't just provide a space; they provide a lifeline of skill-building, creativity, and essential life skills—like Home Skills, Life Skills, and Community Engagement—that help participants transition to independent, fulfilling adulthood.

There are many parallels between the work of the Chamber and the work of Beyond 21. Both organizations exist to empower individuals, create new opportunities, and build strong community networks. Supporting Beyond 21 isn't just "feel-good" charity; it’s an investment in the social fabric and the future potential of our community’s residents. When we empower all of our members to participate fully, we all benefit.

That’s why I’m here. My friends, family, and amazing network in the Cornwall business community, I need your help.

My bail has been set at $1,000, and all funds raised will go directly to support Beyond 21’s life-changing subsidized day programs. Beyond 21’s state-of-the-art "Hub" on Pitt Street is a resource our region should be proud of, but keeping it accessible to everyone requires our support.

Let’s show what our community is made of. I will happily "do my time" if it means we can support the incredible work happening at Beyond 21.
