Goal
Jack is a 26-year-old Palamino Quarter Horse and he has been with us for 5 years. He was recently diagnosed with EPM which is a serious neurological disease that affects the central nervous system and spinal cord. It is an inflammatory disease of nerve tissues of the brain and spinal cord caused by unicellular protozoa. He's under constant care for that but is able to have a satisfying life here at our sanctuary with his girlfriend, our mare, Dee.
Jack is on 3 different medications every day and will be on them for the rest of his life. He is under constant veterinarian care, has to take medication daily, and the vet comes to visit him once a month. The cost ranges from $500-$800 a month just for his vet care.
Jack is a wonderful horse and brings happiness and therapy to our community and the people who visit him, and we hope that we can continue to help him feel good on his journey by being able to afford his medication and give him a pain-free, peaceful life.
Thank you.
