What began as organizing an occasional food drive has grown into something far beyond what I ever imagined. I have the privilege of working alongside dedicated volunteers every week who are committed to supporting our most vulnerable neighbors. We don’t just provide food, diapers, and personal care items; we offer a safe, welcoming space for those who are often facing more than just food insecurity. I cherish the opportunity to connect with our regular clients, catch up with them, and offer support to newcomers who may be unsure about visiting a food pantry for the first time. What I know is there are many reasons people turn to food pantries (illnesses, loss of job, divorce) and any one of us may need extra help at some point due to unexpected life events. I am so grateful I get to be part of this organization that is truly making a difference in our community. 

The Medway Village Food Pantry has experienced exponential growth over the last several years.  In FY24, we had 26,182 client visits, up 31% from FY23. 

We are run 100% by volunteers, so with the exception of a few, small operating expenses, all of the funds raised will be used to purchase food, diapers, and personal care items to keep up with the demand.
