Goal

Beautiful Townsfolk and Culture Jammers.

We are off the back of our best Town yet, but due to a series of challenges we've fallen short of breaking even for the first time.  We are reaching out to the wider community to help us continue this beautiful event for the coming years.

We have a 5 year permit but need your help to put us in a position where we can proceed.

We thought we'd create a fun BLOCK PARTY FUNDRAISER- Held on Jan 11th in the Northern Suburbs to raise funds, from 12pm-9pm.

All donations over $50 will be put on the door-list.

We always put our money back into insane levels of art and community care, and if you've ever felt you've been looked after, or are in a position to generally support, now is the time we really need it <3

We are about to turn 15, and have plans to keep this dream going for another 15, here's what we are thinking.

THE PLAN:

- Cover our outsanding costs from The Town 2024
- Look into transitioning to a Not For Profit and even Charity Status, allowing us to donate money to those in need instead of paying GST.
- Locking in Questival dates
- Talking to Licola about how we can support each other and keep both community organisations sustainable, with future Towns in mind.
- Applying for grants and funding using the epic amount of support material and references we have
- Re-igniting our decor + event service which was put on hold after the thing that shall not be named
- Meeting with investors for more ongoing creative spaces in Melbourne to keep the Jammy energy rolling all year round.

WHY DID WE FALL SHORT?

Our venue fee had a big increase this year, due to their own increasing costs to continue to run.  In response we put ticket prices up but this led to less sales.

On top of this we had a forecast for lots of rain on the Saturday.  This saw a lot of people selling tickets and 90 percent of tickets sold in the last week were resales and not new tickets.  This had a big impact as we normally break even on these final sales.

We're feeling confident about how to make sure this doesn't happen again and the support to get us there is truly appreicated <3

I'm so pleased to see this! A few of us were talking about how to keep The Town viable... So a Block Party ticket would be great (if I can make it), but no plans to get married soon 😉

I've gone to my share of Towns, and I would be dismayed if future people weren't able to have the chance to experience how magical they are.
