Elmer J. Farris and Evelyn A. Farris established this fund to honor their sister Isabel M. Farris who died in March, 2006. Miss Farris was co-owner and operator of the Gus Farris Department Store in downtown Beckley for over 60 years. The business was started by her father in 1911 and closed in 1991. The store was well known for its women’s and men’s clothing and personal customer service. This unrestricted fund will generate income to help support the many requests received in BAF’s Annual Community Grant Program.
