In Gwinnett County, the rising cost of living has become a significant burden for many families. As housing prices soar and daily expenses increase, parents like Jennifer and Mark Johnson struggle to provide for their three children. With school supplies averaging over $100 per student, the start of a new school year is filled with anxiety rather than excitement.

Despite working multiple jobs, they often find their income barely covering rent and essentials. “It feels like every year it gets harder,” Jennifer admits. For families living below the poverty line, the pressure is even greater. Many parents feel overwhelmed as they try to equip their children with the necessary supplies for school.

Community initiatives like the LDAC Foundation's Back to School Supply Drive aim to help alleviate this burden. Last year, the foundation raised nearly $4,000, providing backpacks and school supplies for over 500 kids in the area.

This Giving Tuesday, we invite you to support families like the Johnsons. A simple $5 donation can make a world of difference, ensuring every child has the supplies they need for a successful school year. Together, we can empower our community and give every child a bright start.
