In Living COGI 2025

My name is Renika, and I am an individual who has learned to navigate life while managing inflammatory bowel disease. Since my diagnosis in 2011, I’ve experienced isolation, uncertainty, sadness, and limited support—largely due to a lack of awareness and the absence of familiar faces who truly understood what I was going through.

Becoming part of a community changed everything. It allowed me to transform my pain into purpose and support others who may be facing similar challenges. Being involved in organizations such as Color of GI has created a space where we can connect, uplift one another, and ensure no one has to walk this journey alone.

COGI support programs were created to provide patients with the tools they need to navigate their diagnosis, amplify their voices, and remind them that they are truly seen and valued. These programs have reached over 500 patients and counting, offering critical support that fosters community, understanding, and empowerment.
