This memorial fund honors Mr. Trail, long time educator and superintendent of schools in Raleigh County and his wife Maxine. Income from the endowment will be used for scholarships for one or more graduates of Independence HS. Many additional gifts were made to the fund in memory of their daughter Patricia Trail Peters, a respected teacher who died of cancer.
