In memory of Sir William John (Billy) Boston KBE

Sir Billy Boston KBE was one of rugby league’s most iconic figures - a man whose extraordinary talent, kindness and pride in Wigan made him deeply loved across generations. Following his peaceful passing on Monday 24 August 2026, the Boston family have kindly chosen Wigan & Leigh Hospice to receive donations made in his memory.

Your support will help us to continue providing specialist palliative and end‑of‑life care to local people across the borough, and to be there for the families close to them. As a registered charity, we must raise £13,000 every day to deliver our services, and every donation made in Sir Billy's name will make a meaningful difference.
