IN LOVING MEMORY OF BILL SMART

In memory of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Bill Smart, we’ve established a memorial fund in his honor, partnering with the CitySwing Foundation, a non-profit organization that strives to make golf accessible to all, especially underserved and underrepresented individuals who do not typically have access to the game.

An avid golfer, Bill took up the game in his early thirties after he moved to Bermuda in 1963. He made lifelong friendships on greens and fairways, and he passed on the love of the game to his daughters and grandson, often going out with them well into his nineties, acting as their coach (and pinch-hitting putter).

Growing up in England during the Depression and World War II, having access to the game of golf wasn’t even a consideration for Bill. It is in his honor that we hope to help the CitySwing Foundation with donations so that others may experience the joy and great memories the game of golf gave to him.

William Frederick Smart, Feb. 12, 1931 - June 18, 2025
