Rebuilding a city starts with us, you and me.  When we all do a little, our joint effort multiplies to accomplish more than we hope for or imagine. 

Because of your generosity, Grace Klein Community is able to FeedBHM  by rescuing good food 7 days a week and distributing said food 6 days per week to 6 drive-thru locations across Birmingham and in collaboration with 80+ food distribution partners allowing all of us to address food insecurity in 40 Alabama counties. Over 38,000 households have been helped and over 154,000 people have been fed. Grace Klein Community will rescue over $3.2M in food in 2021, to fill plates and not landfills. Thanks to over 100 food donation partnerships, Grace Klein Community is able to FeedBHM for only $1.09 per meal.

In 2021, food insecurity impacts over 3/4 million people in Alabama: 71% of the adult population and 29% of the children in our state. 1 in 5 children face hunger and the average cost of a meal in Alabama is $3.01.(1)  

With our provision of immediate need resources, while building relationships, we witness the restoration of individuals, families and eventually, we believe, entire communities. When an individual receives a box of food from Grace Klein Community, they also receive a family, addressing the loneliness, isolation and fear triggering the mental health of many of the volunteers and recipients of our day-to-day work.

Your partnership and support allow us to feed the next person, handing us a brick to build relationships, and together, one person at a time, we will rebuild our city.

 All funds received will support our efforts to provide nutritious options to individuals in our state.
