Hello,
As my senior year of college comes to an end, I reflect on all of my time at GCU and am filled with joy because of all of the ways the Lord has worked. One of these ways has been through my involvement with Global Outreach. This year I was placed as head leader over the Short Term Missions ministry. My team and I teach students about missions and connect them with one of the 30 different organizations that GCU partners with.
I have been on a couple of mission trips and have learned so much through them, though I never really felt called into missions until recently. Last year during my spring semester I was able to spend a lot of time in the word and in prayer. During this time, the Lord opened my heart to missions and opened my eyes to see them from a whole new perspective.
With that, I feel called to go on a mission trip this summer. I found myself in a dilemma, however, because knowing all of the different mission trips going out this year, I did not know which one I should attend. I started praying about it and the Lord highlighted an organization called Trail Missions to me.
Trail Missions goal is simple, to reach the unreachable people and villages in the western province of Zambia, Africa. By sharing the Gospel with people who have never heard the name of God, planting a bible believing church in each new village, and drilling water wells, they want to find the unreached people groups, train them in the Word of God, and send them out to minister to other villages.
It still blows my mind how when the Lord calls you to something, He opens door after door to get us there.
The trip I am attending is from June 10-25th and costs $3500. I will be fundraising in different ways and would love and appreciate it if you could partner with me through this journey through prayer and finance. I am so excited to share with you guys all the things the Lord is going to do on this trip!
Blessings,
Imani Rogers
