Imagine Dragons and UNITED24 join efforts towards rebuilding Ukraine, by releasing a video shot in Mykolaiv Oblast
During the Imagine Dragons concert in Warsaw, Sashko from Novohryhorivka, Mykolaiv Oblast, who was seen in the band's video for the song Crushed, was invited on stage. The boy unfolded the Ukrainian flag with the UNITED24 logo.
Imagine Dragons music video director, Ty Arnold, met Sashko while on a trip to Ukraine. The boy was roaming around his native village, which was completely destroyed by russian troops. Ty filmed Sashko's story, and it became the basis for the Crushed music video. The boy from Novohryhorivka, Ukraine, became famous all over the world — thousands of people from Australia to Iceland expressed their support to him.
“There is a war waging on in the year 2023, still. There are people fighting for freedom, people fighting for their homes, people fighting for their country, people fighting for their town, their village. There is a boy here tonight who had his home destroyed in Ukraine. His village was wiped out, destroyed, his house — rubble. This is a reality today. We have a dear friend of ours, Ty, who documented this. And now his house is being rebuilt, stone by stone, brick by brick. The least we can do is tell the stories of the people who are fighting, who have lost, but have not lost, who continue.” — Dan Reynolds, Imagine Dragons frontman.
