ICI Holloway Ward Fundraiser

We are Anahita Zardoshti and Nathaniel Jones from Islington Community Independents, local residents standing as candidates for Holloway Ward in the Islington Council local elections on 7th May 2026.

Our pledge

We are local residents, grassroots organisers, and socialists standing together as Islington Community Independents candidates for Holloway Ward.

Our work is rooted in our community. We have organised alongside trade unions, supported workers on strike, stood in solidarity with anti-imperialist and anti-fascist movements, and built local initiatives that bring people together through political education, culture, and collective action.

In Holloway, we have helped grow a thriving community organisation that supports local campaigns, joins picket lines, mobilises in solidarity with Palestine, and runs mass listening campaigns to ensure local people are heard.

If elected, we pledge to:

• Stand unapologetically with workers and trade unions
 • Defend marginalised communities and challenge all forms of injustice
 • Oppose austerity and fight for properly funded local services
 • Build a council that listens, by putting residents at the centre of decision-making
 • Keep Holloway welcoming, inclusive, and rooted in solidarity

We are not career politicians, we are a part of this community, and we will remain accountable to it.

We commit to using our platform to organise, amplify local voices, and fight for a fairer Islington for everyone.

Our campaign is powered entirely by local volunteers and residents who want a stronger independent voice in Islington Town Hall.

Why we need your support

Unlike the national parties, we have no major backers, and running a local election campaign is expensive. Your donation will help us:

•  Print leaflets and posters
 • Organise community meetings and canvassing
 • Reach more residents across Junction Ward
 • Build a people-powered local campaign
