ImPerfect Angels Organization 2024
SELF Love + SELF Respect + SELF Responsibility = SELF Happiness
Our Organization
The Imperfect Angels Organization is a 501(c)(3) exempt organization with the Internal Revenue Service. We were founded and continue to operate in Illinois, where we are a proud recipient of the Aurora Mayor Service Above Self Award. In 2022 we expanded our programming with a subsidiary chapter in the state of Georgia.
Since 2016 we have been teaching youth the soft- and life- skills needed to reach their full potential with a sense of self-pride and accomplishment. These non-academic lessons are still imperative to help the next generations be prepared for adulthood, gain leadership skills, and maintain healthy lifestyles.
We want to let our community know that we are here and hear their voices for help. These events and programs will help build stronger communities and stronger parents, which will in turn develop stronger leaders in our youth!
Imperfect Angels provides a caring, positive, and inclusive learning environment for young and adult women that eliminates and/or prevents the detrimental effects of societal and media misguidance, being underserved, or experiencing a deflated perception of self.
The YOUTH ADVANCEMENT PROGRAM has a mission to help local youth girls that are facing failures in the classroom and developing destructive habits, which makes it hard for one to see the limitless opportunities that are available. Only through personal relationships can a sense of individual responsibility be reestablished that will give the young women the chance to commit themselves to follow through on their path to adulthood with a sense of pride and accomplishment.
To accomplish this goal, young individuals must be in a caring, positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes their best effort and reinforces personal respect. Recognizing the enormity of the challenges our young women face, IMPERFECT ANGELS' YOUTH ADVANCEMENT PROGRAM focus is slightly different at each level, but the goal remains the same; empower the youth to make positive changes and decisions in their life.
Our programs will include but are not limited to the following:
Workshops & Mentoring
The youth participants will attend our monthly workshops each month that will provide a lesson plan and activities on a chosen topic that is relevant to their adolescent challenges, business basics and leadership skills. This year will start the Angel Badge of Honor program that will help each Angel become motivated to complete tasks on a self-committed journey that will help gain the tools and knowledge needed to sustain their lives in womanhood.
Our Curriculum focuses on building self- love, respect, responsibility and awareness.
Community Service is required by all participants.
.
Annual Bonding Retreat
IAO provides a 2-night/3-day agenda with the participants to practice self-reflection and is full of lessons and activities that will help give a hands-on approach to developing a healthy and happy lifestyle. This program will feature lessons on cooking, critical thinking, self-defense, interpersonal skills, health & hygiene, and so much more!
Annual College Tours
This program will provide local youth that are interested in furthering their education beyond high school. As many underprivileged families do not have the resources or availability to provide the children with in-person visits to college campuses, we would like to bridge that gap. It is important, especially for first generational college students, to have a full understanding of the important sectors in a successful college journey. This will give them a chance to learn about the financial aspects and opportunities, campus living and lifestyles, career/degree choices and processes, and so much more.
Voices Brunch
Our Voices Brunch Program is curated to give a voice to the young and adult women of today's society amongst each other. The mission of this program is to bridge the gaps between generations of womanhood and provide a safe space for women to learn, grow and bond together.
Annual Back 2 School Bash
IAO provides educational resources for families, free games and prizes for the kids, entertainment, free giveaways, free backpacks & school supplies, and opportunities for local small-business participation as we bring the community together to support our youth’s success in their upcoming school year.
Support Our Sisters in Shelters
Our Annual Support Our Sisters is an annual program that provides local underprivileged youth girls in local shelters, group homes and/or juvenile centers with personal essentials needed for self-care and a healthy lifestyle.
Winter Angels
Our Winter Angels program is a holiday and festive program for youth girls that are experiencing a hardship during the holiday season. We will provide a holiday themed experience that involves learning, growing and bonding with one another.
With this being our 8th year, we have seen so many accomplishments. Our participant’s grades have increased, their outlooks and attitudes have become more positive, and their decision-making have improved. We have also served hundreds of underprivileged youths in our local community through our community events. This is only the start to our fast-growing organization, and we are excited to see the growth and positive outcomes as we continue helping our Angels grow every day closer to adulthood and success.
